What is ashwagandha?

Ashwagandha is an herb revered in Indian Ayurvedic medicine. In this medicine, ashwagandha is traditionally used in the treatment of various diseases and to increase energy levels.

Ashwagandha is an adaptogen, a natural regulator that increases the ability to adapt to environmental factors and prevents damage to our bodies.

A What is the purpose of the ashwagandha?

It has been shown that adaptogens in general have the following positive effects:

- Increase and improvement of physical endurance.

- Alleviates pain and inflammation in arthritis.

- Improved sleep quality.

- Prevention of stress-related diseases such as ulcers, hypertension, premature aging...

- Stimulating effect on cognition, especially in children with attention deficits.

- Slower atrophy in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Huntington's or Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

How is ashwagandha used?

A daily dose of 300 to 500 milligrams of ashwagandha root extract is recommended. If you use your own dry root, 3 to 6 grams per day.

It is best to divide the daily dose into several doses, one of which should be given one or two hours before going to bed.

On the other hand, it is recommended to use it continuously and for a longer period to obtain greater benefits.
