Everything you need to know about the latest Minecraft 1.20 update: camels and bamboo blocks

Since its acquisition by Microsoft a few years ago, Minecraft has undergone significant changes. If you haven't played it in a while, you may be completely overwhelmed by all the new features that have been added.

In fact, you may soon feel even more overwhelmed! The 1.20 update for the game will soon be available and will bring many new features. In this article, we'll give you a sneak peek at what you can expect from this update as soon as it's officially released in the game!

If we had to classify Minecraft's 1.20 update's new features into two categories, the first would be the new bamboo blocks. It is now possible to transform them into bamboo wood blocks by crafting them with nine units.

Like any wooden block, you can then transform them into planks. This is excellent news, especially if you want to build Asian-style buildings in your Minecraft world. Finally, you can also create a bamboo mosaic and a raft using this "new" wood.

The second major novelty of Minecraft 1.20 is the addition of two new animals. The first is the camel, a rather pleasant means of transportation. It allows two players to move while being high enough that most enemies cannot reach them. Moreover, it is easy to cross barriers with this animal.

However, there is a downside to the camel, as it can sometimes decide to sit down, and it will then be very difficult to get it to start again. The second animal added in this update is the Sniffer, which will be particularly useful at the beginning of the game. Indeed, it can sniff the ground to find seeds.

In addition to these two major novelties, the 1.20 update should bring other interesting additions. Among these, we can find ancient plants whose usefulness is not yet clear, but which can be found in the form of seeds thanks to the Sniffer.

Moreover, the 1.20 update will include a new library as well as the ability to create a billboard that can be attached under blocks. These special billboards can be crafted with wood and chains. They will also change color depending on the wood used to build them.

This update looks very promising, but for now, no official release date has been announced. However, we know it will be released by spring 2023. A new feature may be available in this update or the next one: Archaeology!
