LALIGA, through its educational department, LALIGA Business School, has once again launched LALIGA Week, its international program that enables temporary immersions in Spain to experience firsthand the methodology of LALIGA.
The Hong Kong Metropolitan University, which signed a memorandum of understanding with LALIGA in 2020 to promote education, research, and projects between the two entities, is now the protagonist of LALIGA Week. As part of this agreement, the university benefits from personalized lectures for students during certain events held in Hong Kong, as well as exclusive content for specific projects. During these events, the university aims to promote Spanish culture and showcase successful business cases to students from different disciplines.
Thanks to this agreement, during the 2021-2022 season, the LALIGA Week Online was organized for the first time, with the participation of 65 students. In the second part of the season, another edition of the LALIGA Week Online was organized, with the participation of 142 students.
This year, for the first time, the LALIGA Week Tour is being launched. Three groups of third-year students from the university, totaling 84 students from different disciplines such as sports management, business administration, accounting, and marketing, have traveled to three cities in Spain under the auspices of LALIGA to experience firsthand the ecosystem of LALIGA, its expertise, and know-how for two weeks. The program included classes at LALIGA's offices in Madrid with top professionals from LALIGA, visits to Valencia CF and UD Levante, visits to Sevilla FC and Real Betis, as well as visits to other sports entities such as the Jerez MotoGP circuit and the Wizink Center, a venue for various cultural events in Madrid.
In addition to all of this, the students were able to attend two matches in person from each group of LALIGA teams:
Group 1: Villarreal CF - Athletic Club and Real Betis - Rayo Vallecano.
Group 2: Sevilla FC - Juventus and Valencia CF - Real Madrid.
Group 3: Real Betis - Getafe CF and Valencia CF - Espanyol.
The LALIGA Week is an international program by LALIGA Business School, the educational department of LALIGA, which was launched in 2019 and has already hosted numerous visits from leagues and other international partners such as Lagos Business School in Nigeria, Universidad El Externado in Colombia, Liga Dominicana de FĂștbol, and a basketball professionals' expedition organized by the government of Israel. Its objective is to showcase the methodology of LALIGA through experiences with clubs or professionals who have firsthand knowledge of the sports industry in general and football in particular.
