Apex Legends, developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, is an online first-person shooter that has captivated players since its release in February 2019. Its phenomenal success can be attributed to its innovative gameplay mechanics and smooth gameplay, inspired by the Titanfall series.
At the heart of the epic battles lies the Team Deathmatch mode, a favorite among players. In this mode, two teams of six players each engage in fierce battles. Before each match, players have the opportunity to choose from a range of unique characters, each with their own special abilities, and equip various items in preparation for the encounters that await them on a variety of maps.
On February 16, 2023, the game's developers, Respawn Entertainment, shared an exciting announcement regarding upcoming changes to the Team Deathmatch mode. In a tweet posted by the @PlayApex team, players were informed that matches in this mode will now be more dynamic thanks to a significant modification: the number of rounds will be reduced to one, instead of the usual three rounds. This decision was made in response to player feedback, expressing a desire for matches to unfold in a faster and more intense manner.
In addition to the reduction in the number of rounds, another key modification to the Team Deathmatch mode relates to the victory conditions. Previously, a team had to achieve 30 eliminations to win the match, but now, this number is increased to a range of 30 to 50 eliminations. This modification aims to provide players with a more balanced and stimulating gaming experience while increasing the challenge and excitement of achieving victory.
In parallel, the developers have also focused on enhancing the game's "quality of life." One notable improvement is the addition of an automatic match-ending feature when an entire team decides to leave prematurely. This will prevent situations where a numerical imbalance disadvantages the remaining team, ensuring a more satisfying conclusion for players engaged in a complete match.
To discourage premature quitting, penalties will now be applied to players who abandon an ongoing match. This penalty will be similar to the one already implemented in the Control mode, aimed at maintaining fairness and respect for equitable gameplay among all players.
These changes to the Team Deathmatch mode in Apex Legends demonstrate the developers' ongoing commitment to addressing player feedback and continuously improving the gaming experience. Thanks to these adjustments, the epic battles and intense moments of gameplay will be even more thrilling and rewarding for all fans of this must-play FPS.
