The CD Eldense and Racing de Ferrol join the LALIGA Impulso project, bringing the number of participating clubs to 44. The LALIGA Impulso clubs conclude the first assessment of objectives by achieving a high success rate of 72%.
The clubs adhering to LALIGA Impulso gathered this Thursday at LALIGA's headquarters in Madrid to review the first season's progress during which the project was equipped with measurable objectives.
In this first assessment of objectives, the clubs achieved a completion rate of 72%, with an additional 8% already in progress. A highly significant percentage that reflects the level of progress of the initiative.
In addition to achieving the objectives, the efforts made by the clubs to develop strategic initiatives have attracted additional investments, resulting in an additional economic impact, which LALIGA will soon present in a comprehensive report.
All the clubs in the project, including the four clubs that successfully joined LALIGA HYPERMOTION during the 22-23 season, attended the meeting. CD Eldense and Racing de Ferrol confirmed their participation in the project, joining AD Alcorcón and SD Amorebieta, which had been part of it since the beginning.
The main objective of the meeting was to analyze the results achieved during the last year and a half of work, identify areas for improvement, and establish new challenges and strategic projects.
It was a day attended by presidents and general managers but was also open to the participation of other members of the clubs. There were moments of reflection on the progress made during the season and the establishment of foundations for the new campaign.
In his speech, Javier Tebas, President of LALIGA, emphasized the importance of the collective nature of the project: "We are all committed to succeeding within our organization, as it will also mean the success of LALIGA. Having a soul means that we all work with the collective well-being in mind. We are aware that if we do not achieve our objectives, we not only harm ourselves but also the entire collective."
The challenge: to continue growing
During the session, the main milestones of the season were reviewed, as well as the growth points set as objectives for the season in projects related to the digital area, infrastructure, or the creation of new lines of activity, all with a strong collective aspect.
The creation of content to reach a wider audience and in multiple languages, the transformation of infrastructure to enhance fan experience, as well as a commitment to technology applied to the sports industry, are among the projects that will mark the future stages of the clubs. Additionally, two new areas are added to LALIGA Impulso's nine work axes: corporate infrastructure and human resources.
CVC delivered €1.447M
After receiving the last payment corresponding to June, amounting to €482M, LALIGA has already received a total of €1.447M from the fund, thus complying with the roadmap established in the agreement. Following this payment, there is one final investment tranche from CVC, agreed before the end of the 23-24 season, which will complete the agreed €1.929M in the agreement.
An investment with a finalistic nature that can only be used in a series of predetermined areas. At least 70% must be allocated to investments for the club's growth, while optionally, up to a maximum of 15% can be devoted to optimizing the financial structure and another maximum of 15% to reinforce the sports personnel.
LALIGA Impulso was launched in 2021 as a strategic project of LaLiga, in which the investment fund CVC, a prominent partner with extensive experience in the sports industry, injected nearly 2 billion euros to undertake growth and consolidation projects from both a sports and entrepreneurial perspective. This groundbreaking agreement in our country's professional sports sector provides LaLiga clubs with the necessary impetus to advance 20 years in terms of professionalism and development, enabling them to implement projects that ensure their overall growth.
