What are the best classes in Diablo IV Season 1?

The first season of Diablo 4 is finally available to everyone! It's the perfect opportunity to explore a completely new mechanic called "Malignant Hearts" and experiment with various new playstyles.

The patch for this first season has brought significant changes to classes and configurations. To help you navigate through these changes, we present a list of the best classes for Diablo IV Season 1.

Before making your choice, it's essential to keep in mind that the best class largely depends on your personal preferences! However, some classes stand out due to their design or solo effectiveness, while in multiplayer, all classes are relatively balanced.

Tier S

The Rogue:

Undoubtedly one of the best classes, the Rogue excels in dealing massive area damage through its multi-target spells. The majority of its builds are ranked at the S level, some even considered overly powerful. In fact, some players are calling for the developers to nerf the class.

Particularly fearsome is the "Twisted Blades" build, which shines both during leveling and in the endgame. It's safe to say that the Rogue reigns supreme in the first season of Diablo 4.

The Druid:

The Druid possesses incredible power and stands just behind the Rogue, mainly due to slightly lower mobility. However, this weakness is compensated by remarkable resilience. It ranks among the most robust and offensive classes in Diablo IV.

Tier A

Necromancer:

The Necromancer is powerful, though it ranks below the Druid and the Rogue. Nevertheless, it benefits from one of the game's best builds, the "Bone Spear." This build allows the Necromancer to hold its own against other classes.

While highly effective in leveling and endgame, the only drawback of the Necromancer is its lack of mobility. Compared to all other classes in the game, the Necromancer is slow, very slow.

Tier B

The Sorcerer:

With enormous mobility and excellent leveling, the Sorcerer presents a significant drawback in the endgame. Its fragility makes it heavily reliant on stunning its target to eliminate them quickly, leaving it vulnerable to elite enemies.

Once in the endgame, the Sorcerer lacks damage, versatility, and has very few hit points. As a result, it becomes susceptible to being one-shotted by many mobs and bosses in the first season of Diablo IV.

The Barbarian:

Barbarians have undergone significant nerfs and bug fixes, making them considerably less potent. Unfortunately, the Barbarian struggles in leveling, endgame, and mobility. Its primary strength lies in its resilience, placing it alongside the Druid as one of the most robust classes. Similar to the launch of Diablo 4, this season appears challenging for the Barbarian. However, with potential adjustments and updates, the balance of power may evolve over time.
