The Teamfight Tactics Set 8 has been around for several months now, and the game's developers are looking for new ways to make Champion Augments, or Hero Augments, as fun and engaging to select as possible. TFT is both a competitive game, with many players seeking to optimize their performance and rank up, but also a relaxing game, with many players simply looking to play what they enjoy. Mortdog is working to find a solution for Hero Augment balancing.
On January 31st, 2023, Riot Mort, also known as Mortdog, the lead designer of Teamfight Tactics, announced in a tweet his intention to add 4 rerolls for Hero Augments. This change would be significant and have a deep impact on how we play Set 8.
(1/3) In 13.3, we're making a big change to Hero Augments, and you'll get 4 rerolls. We're making this change because we've heard how, for a lot of you, you only have so much time to play TFT, and getting to play something you enjoy is important for having fun with the game. pic.twitter.com/xfWPYFCSrj

Mortdog presents several justifications for this change. It's a system that can help you find your carry champion if you already determined a 3-2 strategy, and give you the opportunity to play around what you have already found. This change will also reduce the variability of Hero Augments by offering more choices, reducing player dissatisfaction.
This major change will take place in patch 13.3, in two patches to come, given that patch 13.2 has not yet been released due to the attacks on Riot's servers.
