Discover Sonic Prime, the new animated series about Sega's blue hedgehog!

Sonic Frontiers, and now Sonic Prime, the famous blue hedgehog is currently everywhere. This brand-new series comes just in time, right before the year-end holidays, to provide entertainment during the vacations.

Indeed, Sonic Prime is an entirely original series in the world of the blue hedgehog, exclusively available on Netflix. The series seems to have started off successfully, but let's take a brief look.

Sonic Prime has been available on Netflix since December 15th, with nearly 8 episodes, following the typical format of today's Netflix series. Each episode of Sonic Prime lasts about 22 minutes, except for the first episode, which is 45 minutes long. Although fans always want more, it's worth noting that the series is primarily aimed at children (and it quickly reached the top spot on Netflix Kids upon release).

All the familiar elements are there (or almost), offering a unique opportunity to dive deeper into the world of the blue hedgehog. The animation looks polished, the universe is respected, and Sonic Prime seems to bring a touch of originality with its concept of multiverses and advanced technology.

In France, the dubbing of beloved characters is particularly appreciated, and the original version has been maintained for Sonic Prime. Thus, Alexandre Gilet once again lends his voice to Sonic, a role he has portrayed since 2003, and which we recently heard in Sonic Frontiers. But he's not alone, as Marc Bretonnière voices Eggman, Marie-Eugénie Maréchal voices Tails, Naïké Fauveau portrays Amy, and so on. Almost the entire French cast we know is back.

Unfortunately, the English version did not benefit from this continuity, as the voice actors for Sonic and Tails, for example, were different from one project to another. The advantage of having the same voice for a character lies in the consistency it brings from one project to another, and we applaud our voice actors for their consistent dedication over the years.

It's still a bit early to speculate about a possible Season 2 of Sonic Prime. However, the enthusiasm it has generated suggests that this sequel could come quickly, especially since the series has not yet revealed its full potential. In any case, the first season ends with a major cliffhanger, hinting at a continuation of the story. Meanwhile, you can always revisit the first season of Sonic Prime available on Netflix to pass the time!

Sonic the Hedgehog, more commonly known as Sonic, is a series of video games that emerged under the auspices of the Japanese company Sega in 1991. It stands out by featuring Sega's iconic mascot, Sonic, an anthropomorphic blue hedgehog, who opposes the main antagonist of the franchise, Dr. Eggman (or Robotnik). The usual plot revolves around Sonic's efforts to thwart Eggman's ambitious plans to dominate the world.

The very first game in this series was released in 1991 and was developed by Sega's Sonic Team studio in response to Sega's need for a distinctive mascot. This title achieved resounding success, giving rise to numerous sequels and propelling Sega to the status of giants in the video game industry during the 1990s, especially during the 16-bit console era, which spanned the early to mid-'90s.
