The Rocket League community is in uproar! Epic Games is removing player trades

Rocket League, the quietly advancing game that has been making its way without much noise, continues on its path. Since its release, it has never achieved the resounding success of a major launch.

However, players are still present in large numbers, even enjoying a competitive esports scene with regular team additions, such as the recent inclusion of Gentle Mates a few months ago. Despite this, there's been growing discontent among players for the past few hours.

The point of contention in Rocket League revolves around a freshly announced decision. Starting from December 5th, player trades will simply be eliminated, and this news has not been well-received by the gaming community.

They quickly point out that these trades were not only a means to find rare items that had been unavailable in the game's shop for some time but also a way to obtain new cosmetics without spending money. All of this will come to an end on December 5th, forcing players to check if they have lent cosmetic items to their friends.

If so, these items must be returned before that date, or they will be blocked in players' inventories. Many players criticize this decision, claiming that Epic Games is simply looking to increase its revenue.

Indeed, if trades are prohibited, players will have to turn to the in-game shop if they want to acquire new cosmetics. Moreover, some believe that this goes against the game's trophy system, as some trophies explicitly require item trades.

Of course, a petition has been launched and has currently gathered 9,000 signatures. It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to change Epic Games' mind, but the task seems challenging.

As a reminder, Rocket League was released on July 7, 2015, and since then, it has captured the hearts of millions of players worldwide. This unique game, developed by Psyonix, successfully merged the intensity of football with the exhilaration of rocket-powered car racing. In one year, Rocket League has built a passionate community where players of all levels compete in thrilling matches.

The innovative concept of rocket-powered cars maneuvering aggressively on a futuristic playing field brought a refreshing touch to the world of video games. As we celebrate the first anniversary of this phenomenon today, it's undeniable that Rocket League has left an indelible mark in gaming history, continuing to inspire fan enthusiasm and redefine the standards of video game entertainment.
