It is also relevant to mention that early access to EA Sports FC 24 has been available since September 22 for EA Play Pro subscribers and those who pre-ordered the Ultimate edition. Why isn't it called FIFA 24 but EA Sports FC 24?

The name change of Electronic Arts' football simulation game, transitioning from the well-known "FIFA" to "EA Sports FC," stems from challenging negotiations with FIFA. Initially, the partnership between Electronic Arts and FIFA allowed for the use of official names of competitions and players, adding a striking realism to the game.

However, during the last renegotiation in 2022, FIFA demanded a significant increase in the cost of its licenses. Faced with this dispute, Electronic Arts decided not to continue using the name "FIFA" and chose "EA Sports FC" as the new identity for its game. This transition also involved a change in the management of player licenses, with a direct agreement reached with FIFPRO.
