Mario Kart Tour: Development is complete according to Nintendo! Say goodbye to updates

Currently, the Nintendo universe is shaken by a persistent rumor regarding the possible creation of a live-action Zelda film by the Japanese gaming giant. Despite this excitement, no official confirmation has been issued. Nintendo's recent communication has disappointed Mario Kart Tour enthusiasts by announcing the end of updates for the game.

Let's go back four years, to the launch of Mario Kart Tour, marking a new era for Nintendo in its mobile market conquest. Over time, the results have been mixed, although the game that performed the best is undoubtedly Mario Kart Tour. The ability to play the famous kart game anywhere sparked keen interest.

The popularity of Mario Kart Tour was evident when, during an update to Mario Kart 8, circuits from Mario Kart Tour were integrated. One could have expected a successful continuation of the game. Unfortunately, sad news was announced, indicating that the next content addition would mark the end of updates for Mario Kart Tour.

Nintendo has confirmed that content after the Battle Tour (starting on October 4) will consist only of existing content. While the game is not scheduled to close, the absence of new additions could negatively impact the gaming experience, eventually leading to a gradual player exodus and, consequently, the potential closure of the game.

As a reminder, Mario Kart Tour is a free-to-play downloadable racing game, integrated into the renowned Mario Kart franchise and specifically designed by Nintendo for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. It was officially launched on September 25, 2019. The central concept of the game revolves around competitions across various global locations, featuring courses inspired by real-world metropolises. Although the game is accessible at no cost, its economic model offers in-app purchases to acquire competitive advantages.
