For many years, players have immersed themselves in the pirate universe offered by Rare through Sea of Thieves, available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. And soon, this community will expand with the game's launch on PS5 on April 30th.
The announcement of this arrival on the console has raised questions regarding the possibility of crossplay. On X (formerly known as Twitter), the answer has been given.
Is there crossplay on PS5 for Sea of Thieves? Yes, as stated on X. But to enjoy it, you'll need to have a Microsoft account, as illustrated below, which you'll need to link to your PlayStation account.
Once this feature is activated on PS5, you'll be able to play with friends, regardless of their platform. You can form a group with players on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, or Xbox One.
Remember that to invite your friends to play in crossplay, you'll need to add them on PC or Xbox. Here's how:
To add friends on PC, open the Xbox app, go to the Community tab, search for your friend's name, click on their username, then click "Add Friend." To add friends on Xbox, press the Xbox button on your controller, select Contacts > Find Someone, choose the account you want to add, then select "Add Friend."
Remember that Sea of Thieves offers a multiplayer experience, but connection issues can sometimes occur. Always check the server status to ensure that no maintenance is ongoing.
