LOUD's thrilling victory over paiN Gaming captivates esports fans globally
The Brazilian Championship of League of Legends (CBLOL) has set a new benchmark in viewership during the 2024 Split 1 Grand Final. LOUD's victory over paiN Gaming in a tight 3-2 series attracted nearly 460,000 peak concurrent viewers, marking a substantial increase in audience engagement.
Riot Games reported an 18% increase in average concurrent viewers per match and a 47% increase in hours watched, totaling 15 million hours across YouTube and Twitch. This growth was partly driven by the new format featuring 10 games each weekend instead of eight.
CBLOL Academy also outperformed its predecessor, registering a 130% increase in hours watched and a 28% higher average audience. This reflects the league's evolution since CBLOL became a franchise in 2021, replacing the lower divisions with the Academy league.
The league's record-breaking viewership of 24.9 million hours watched throughout the split highlights its rising popularity and solidifies CBLOL's status as one of the most-watched leagues in the esports world.
