ALGS 2024 Split 1 Playoffs : Global esports showcase ignites international talent

ALGS 2024 Split 1 Playoffs hit top five views in Apex Legends tournaments

The Split 1 Playoffs of ALGS 2024 brought in some tweaks, notably with a beefed-up Group Stage while sticking to the familiar Bracket and Finals setup. A major addition was the debut of the Solos Showdown event showcasing community figures and content creators. Despite its hype, this showmatch didn't pull in the expected viewers, leading to a dip in average viewership during the Finals.

This epic showdown pulled in a whopping 8.82 million hours of viewing time spread over a thrilling 46-hour broadcast, securing its spot as the fifth most-watched event in Apex Legends history. The adrenaline-fueled Playoffs hit their peak with a staggering 567,600 viewers tuned in during the heart-pounding final round 8, drawing significant attention from the gaming community in Japan.

South Korean team REJECT WINNITY emerged as champions, boasting a roster from Japanese organization REALIZE. Their success highlighted international talent in the esports scene. Japanese audiences demonstrated strong support, contributing significantly to the viewership numbers. Japanese roster Fnatic finished in third place, emphasizing the region's competitive prowess. Overall, the ALGS: 2024 Split 1 Playoffs showcased top teams and international audiences, marking a successful and dynamic start to the esports year.
