Since the start of Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite on May 24, many players have expressed concerns about the overpowering nature of vehicles. Taking these remarks into account, Epic Games deployed a corrective update on May 30 to rebalance the game.
Vehicle Adjustments: Update on May 30, 2024
In response to player feedback, Epic Games introduced a series of modifications to balance the use of vehicles in Fortnite. Here are the main changes:
Main Vehicle Modifications
Reduced Vehicle Durability: Vehicles now have fewer hit points, making them more vulnerable to attacks, especially in solo mode.
Vehicle Turret Adjustments: The accuracy of machine guns has been reduced, and the fire rate of turrets in nitro mode has been lowered from 1.5x to 1.25x.
Increased Nitro Gauntlets Cooldown Time: The reload time for these items has been extended by an additional 3 seconds.
Improved Boom Bolt Damage Against Vehicles: The damage dealt by this weapon to cars has been increased from 3.0x to 3.7x.
Reduced Damage of Nitro Bash and Grenade Turrets: Nitro Bash now deals 25 damage instead of 75, and grenade turrets cause less damage to structures, decreasing from 250 to 150.
New Balances and Weapons in Development In addition to vehicle adjustments, dataminers have spotted a new weapon in development: a heavy sniper designed to deal significant damage to vehicles. Although some sound effects are still missing, this weapon should be added soon, providing a new strategy to counter powerful vehicles.
Collaborations and Upcoming Content Chapter 5 Season 3 of Fortnite already includes collaborations with franchises like Fallout and Marvel. Additionally, a future collaboration with Lethal Company is in the works. Dataminers have discovered files indicating a Lethal Company set, including a skin, an emote, a pickaxe, and a back bling.
