How to Take a Good Free Kick in EA Sports FC 25

In EA FC 25, free kicks are an excellent opportunity to score spectacular goals and turn the tide of a match. To achieve this, it’s essential to master a few key techniques. Here’s a simplified guide for taking free kicks effectively in the game.

Choosing the Right Taker

The choice of the free kick taker is crucial. Look for a player with high accuracy, good curve to bend the ball, and suitable shot power. It’s also important to check whether the player is right-footed or left-footed to maximize your chances of success. Depending on the angle of the free kick, it’s often more effective to select a player who can strike from the best position relative to their strong foot.

For instance, for a free kick located to the right of the goal, a left-footed player will have a more favorable angle to curl the ball around the wall into the opposite top corner. Similarly, a right-footed player will be advantaged for free kicks on the left side. This strategy allows you to fully leverage the ball's natural curve.

Positioning the Camera

Position the camera to target a strategic point in the goal. For a curved free kick, aim slightly outside the frame, while a powerful direct shot can be aimed towards the top corner.

Types of Free Kicks

  • Curled Free Kick: Ideal for medium distance. Use R1/RB to apply curve.

  • Floating Free Kick: Hold L1/LB for powerful long-distance shots.

  • Low Free Kick: Hold L1 + R1 to strike low and surprise the goalkeeper.

Applying Curve and Power

Use the right stick to apply curve to the shot around the wall. A well-timed shot should be between 2 to 3 bars of power, depending on the distance and type of free kick chosen. Regular practice is essential to perfect your free kicks.

Additional Tips

  • Vary Your Shots: Mix up your strikes and use feints to destabilize the goalkeeper and surprise your opponent.

  • Practice Regularly: Spend time in Practice Mode to refine your techniques, especially with different takers.

By combining these techniques and taking the time to practice, your free kicks in EA FC 25 can become a powerful offensive weapon to change the course of the game, especially when you find yourself in a difficult position.
