The One Piece Anime Is on Break for the First Time in Its History!

For over two decades, One Piece has amazed us with its epic adventures airing every week. However, for the first time in the anime’s history (excluding technical issues and hacks), an extended break is planned. So, what are the reasons for this break, and how long will it last? Here’s what we know!

A Historic Pause for One Piece
The announcement was made on X (formerly Twitter): the One Piece anime will take a long hiatus. The break was decided to allow the production team to further improve the quality of the animation, especially for the highly anticipated Egghead arc. This arc, eagerly awaited by fans, will be on hold until April 2025.

In addition to this pause, the anime will change its time slot when it returns in April 2025. Details about this change will be revealed during Jump Festa 2025, a major event for manga and anime fans. While this break may be frustrating for viewers, it highlights the team’s commitment to delivering an even more polished version of the story.

At the same time, fans can look forward to another exciting project: a One Piece remake is in the works, slated for release in the coming years. It will be animated by Studio WIT, the renowned studio behind Attack on Titan, and promises to bring a fresh take on Luffy’s early adventures with his crew.

So, fans will need to wait until April 2025 to continue the Egghead arc and learn more about Vegapunk's mysterious message. Though the break is long, it aims to ensure exceptional animation quality for the upcoming episodes.
