Worlds 2024 breaks 3 million viewers thanks to Epic Korean fan power

The 2024 League of Legends Worlds hit a crazy milestone, smashing over 3 million concurrent viewers during the insane T1 vs. G2 showdown, setting a new group-stage viewership record.

This hype is mainly fueled by the Korean fanbase, especially after the Swiss Stage got back in the game. Following the early exits of Brazilian and Spanish teams paiN Gaming and MAD Lions KOI, viewership in these regions took a substantial hit down 36% in Portuguese and a staggering 73% in Spanish streams. Despite these declines, the excitement surrounding key matchups, including FlyQuest vs.

HLE and Top Esports vs. Dplus pulled massive numbers across both English and Korean streams, with Korean viewership soaring by a whopping 148%. Meanwhile, T1’s showdown against G2 was a banger, critical for advancing to the knockout stage. It became the second most-watched matchup between these squads, only topped by their epic 2019 semifinals clash. With teams from Europe, South Korea, and China still in contention, and T1's advancing momentum, viewership is anticipated to keep climbing as fans rally around the action.
