Unlike traditional Pokémon games, Pokémon TCG Pocket eliminates resistances entirely. In the classic format, types like Ghost resist Normal and Fighting, but this concept is absent here. However, weaknesses remain a crucial part of gameplay. Pokémon attacked by a type they’re weak against take extra damage, though not as significantly as in other games.
Weakness Damage Bonus: Pokémon take an additional 20 damage from attacks of a type they’re weak against, rather than doubling the damage as in traditional games.
Single Bonus Per Attack: This 20-point bonus applies only once per attack, even if the move strikes multiple times in a turn.
Exceptions: Certain cards may grant immunity to weaknesses. These exceptions are clearly indicated on the card and should be factored into your strategy.
Below are the weaknesses assigned to different Pokémon types in Pokémon TCG Pocket:

Analyze Opponent Decks:
Identify the types your opponents use frequently and prepare cards that can exploit their weaknesses.
Minimize Major Weaknesses:
If your deck relies heavily on one type, include versatile cards to offset any critical weaknesses.
Leverage Cards Without Weaknesses:
Pokémon immune to weaknesses can disrupt strategies reliant on bonus damage.
With weaknesses limited to a fixed 20-damage bonus, Pokémon TCG Pocket provides a simplified alternative to the often complex systems of traditional formats. While these adjustments may challenge your habits from other games, they also open new opportunities for strategic depth.
