When Does the Space-Time Smackdown Expansion Release on Pokémon TCG Pocket?

The countdown is on for the release of the Space-Time Smackdown expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, set for January 30, 2025. This new wave of cards, inspired by the Sinnoh region, promises plenty of surprises and new strategies.

The launch will happen worldwide, with an online release at 7:00 AM in France, 6:00 AM in London, 1:00 AM in New York, and 4:00 PM in Sydney. Once live, players can begin opening their boosters and discovering the new additions from this expansion.

With over 140 new cards, Space-Time Smackdown highlights legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia in their EX forms, as well as Pokémon like Lucario, Pachirisu, and Sinnoh starters: Piplup, Turtwig, and Chimchar. The introduction of Pokémon Tools, a brand-new type of Trainer card, will add depth to gameplay strategies, while thematic challenges will allow players to unlock rewards by collecting certain cards.

To prepare for the release, it's advised to gather Hourglass Boosters to open as many packs as possible on launch day. If you’re torn between the Dialga and Palkia boosters, consider your playstyle before making your choice. As for exchanges, while the new expansion's cards won’t be immediately tradeable, a future update will soon lift this restriction.
