Pokémon TCG Pocket: The Trades Are Here, So How Do They Work? Complete Guide

The long-awaited card trade feature has finally arrived in Pokémon TCG Pocket on January 29, 2025. This major update allows players to trade their cards with friends, adding a new dimension to both collection and strategy in the game.

Trades are conducted via the "Social" tab in the main menu, under the "Trades" section. However, it is not possible to view a friend's collection directly, so players must coordinate beforehand to propose a trade.

Several conditions govern this new system:

  • Only cards that are duplicated can be traded.

  • Trades are limited to cards with a rarity of 1 star or less.

  • Promotional cards cannot be traded.

  • Trades must be made between cards of the same value and, where applicable, with the same Deco Effects.

Each trade consumes:

  • 1 trade vitality point (which recharges every 24 hours, with a maximum of 5 stored).

  • Trade Tokens, depending on the rarity of the cards:

    • 1◊ and 2◊ cards: Free

    • 3◊ cards: 120 tokens

    • 4◊ cards: 500 tokens

    • 1★ cards: 400 tokens

Trade Tokens can be obtained through the "Get Items" option in the "Collection" menu.

This trade system has been designed to prevent abuse and maintain the balance of the game. By limiting trades to friends and restricting the cards available for trade to those of the same rarity, Pokémon TCG Pocket focuses on ensuring fair and secure trades.
