After more than ten years of waiting, Grand Theft Auto VI seems to finally have a confirmed release date: fall 2025. Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, reaffirmed this commitment during its financial results presentation, putting an end to speculations about a possible delay.
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, confirmed that 2025 would be a record year for the publisher, with several major releases in addition to GTA 6, including Civilization VII, Mafia: The Old Country, and Borderlands 4.
The first trailer, released in December 2023, gave a glimpse of the game's universe:
A return to a modernized Vice City, inspired by Miami.
Intense chases, luxurious parties, and an even more vibrant world.
The introduction of Lucia, the first female playable protagonist in the series.
But despite these promises, Rockstar remains tight-lipped. No further details have been revealed since, and some worry that the announcement was mainly to reassure investors.
With nearly 200 million copies sold, GTA V is a phenomenon. This success places immense pressure on Rockstar, which must deliver a game that lives up to the enormous expectations of its fans.
The publisher seems confident, but until new information confirms this deadline, doubts will persist. Will GTA 6 truly release in 2025? The answer will come in the coming months.
