From Tuesday, February 11, at 10 AM to Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 8 PM, Pokémon GO celebrated friendship and teamwork with the "Unbreakable Bonds" event. This special event introduced a brand-new Pokémon, boosted spawns, unique raids, and exciting rewards. Here’s a recap of everything that happened.
The highlight of the event was the debut of Toedscruel, a Grass/Water-type Pokémon known as the Kelp Pokémon. It appeared in 3-star Raids, giving trainers an exclusive chance to add it to their Pokédex. With its dual typing, Toedscruel offers interesting battle strategies and is already shaping up to be a valuable addition to teams.
Beyond Toedscruel, several Pokémon had increased wild spawn rates, including Nidoran♀, Nidoran♂, Diglett, Slowpoke, Shellder, Dunsparce, Remoraid, Mantine, Plusle, Minun, Volbeat, Illumise, Cutiefly, and Fomantis. As for Raids, trainers could battle:
1-star Raids: Shellder, Dwebble, and Skrelp
3-star Raids: Slowbro, Hippowdon, and Toedscruel
5-star Raids: Tornadus (Incarnate Forme)
Mega Raids: Mega Tyranitar
To make the event even more rewarding, several bonuses were activated. Players enjoyed double XP for catches and enhanced Lure Modules lasting one hour, attracting Pokémon such as Diglett, Slowpoke, Shellder, Dunsparce, Cutiefly, and Fomantis. Additionally, each capture of these Pokémon granted a 500 Stardust bonus. The shiny rates for Diglett, Dunsparce, and Skrelp were also increased, making gameplay even more exciting.
For those seeking extra challenges, Collection Challenges rewarded Stardust and Great Balls for catching specific Pokémon. Special Field Research Tasks also offered additional rewards, including Stardust and encounters with Tandemaus.
