Monster Hunter Wilds: How to easily obtain Sharp Fangs?

The sharp fang is a moderately rare resource that you can obtain early in the game. It’s primarily gathered by skinning certain small monsters or completing specific quests. This material is especially useful for completing armor sets like the Chatacabra set and crafting equipment in the early and middle stages of your adventure.

There are several main sources in the game for obtaining sharp fangs. Talioths, small carnivores resembling velociraptors, are common in the Windy Plains. They mainly appear in zones 8, 10, 11, 13, and 16, with a high concentration in zone 10. These monsters have about a 30% chance of dropping a sharp fang when skinned. Gajios, aquatic creatures resembling crocodiles, are the most reliable way to obtain this material. They can be found near water points in the Windy Plains and the Scarlet Forest, and every Gajios killed guarantees a sharp fang. If you're looking for a bit more variety, Piragills and Kanodaths also drop sharp fangs, with a drop rate between 25% and 30%. Finally, the Porkeplume, although rarer to encounter, has an exceptionally high drop rate of 75% for sharp fangs.

To maximize your chances of gathering sharp fangs, here are a few tips. Start by using the filters on your map, enabling the "small monsters" filter to quickly locate Talioths or Gajios in your current region. Opt for 3-star or lower free quests, as they’re perfect for farming these monsters. If you're in Expert mode, be aware that sharp fangs will be replaced by rarer materials, so stick to low-level quests to specifically gather this material. Don’t forget to explore water points: Gajios love to hang around rivers and lakes. Finally, take advantage of the local fauna: Talioths often attack injured prey like Doshaguma, so hunting large monsters in their territory can maximize your chances of gathering several sharp fangs at once.

The sharp fang is essential for crafting the full Chatacabra armor set, making the austerity talisman (which reduces stamina loss over time), and upgrading certain weapons.
