Dragonite is a valuable resource in Monster Hunter Wilds, essential for upgrading your weapons and crafting specific equipment. Here’s a simple guide to help you get this coveted resource.
You can primarily obtain Dragonite in two ways: mining deposits and quest rewards. Mining deposits are the most reliable method. You can find them in three main regions: the Oil Basin, the Ice Cliffs, and the Wyveria Ruins. Some main story missions and side quests also reward you with Dragonite.
To extract Dragonite from mining deposits, look for large geode-like structures with sharp blue crystals. Approach them and press the button indicated on the screen (B on Xbox, Circle on PlayStation, F on PC). Each deposit can give you up to three items, sometimes more if your companions help.
The best areas for mining Dragonite are:
Oil Basin: Zone 13 has three deposits just outside the camp, and zones 14 and 16 have three more in a circuit.
Wyveria Ruins: Several deposits are near the camp in zone 9, especially in zones 8, 9, and 10.
Ice Cliffs: Zone 8 offers three deposits close to each other on the upper level.
Use the map to activate the "resources" filter to easily locate mining deposits.
Once identified, use the Seikret taxi to get there quickly.
Switch between different zones since deposits regenerate every 15 minutes.
Even if you don’t need Dragonite immediately, gather it regularly during your expeditions.
Completing side quests that reward you with Dragonite can also diversify your sources.
Dragonite can also be obtained by hunting Kranodaths in the Oil Basin. These small monsters have a chance to drop Dragonite when defeated.
Dragonite is mainly used to upgrade mineral-type weapons at the forge, craft specific armor sets, and create special talismans. If you're at expert rank and running low on Dragonite, hunting Kranodaths is a great alternative.
