GTA V: A Free Update Arrives on PC to Wait for GTA 6!

Since its release in 2013, GTA V has crossed multiple console generations and been ported to numerous platforms. In 2022, Rockstar launched a next-gen version for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and PC players had been waiting for similar improvements ever since. Three years later, this free update bridges the gap, and PC players can now enjoy the "Enhanced Edition."

If you already own GTA V on PC, you can access this new version for free. Those with less powerful hardware can continue playing the older version, now called "GTA V Legacy." However, note that there is no cross-play between the two versions.

This update brings technical improvements previously reserved for next-gen consoles, offering impressive visual and performance quality:

• Ray tracing: Global illumination effects, ambient occlusion, and ray-traced reflections for an incredible visual experience.

• Performance optimization: Support for AMD FSR (versions 1 and 3) and NVIDIA DLSS 3 ensures smooth rendering, even for the most powerful setups.

• Reduced loading times: Thanks to SSDs and DirectStorage, gone are the endless wait times.

• Immersive audio: Dolby Atmos support for an even more realistic sound experience.

• Enhanced resolutions and frame rates: Suitable for ultrawide screens with better resolutions and aspect ratios.
   

Players can also enjoy DualSense controller features, with adaptive triggers and haptic feedback for an even more immersive feel.

GTA Online is no exception, receiving new content to enrich the multiplayer experience:

• Hao’s Special Works (HSW): A workshop to customize vehicles with high-end upgrades. Five new vehicles and twenty existing models can now be modified.

• Exclusive events: HSW Races, Time Trials, and Premium Test Rides are available.

• GTA+ Subscription: This service debuts on PC, offering exclusive benefits and monthly rewards.
