Strike Smart, Score Hard: How to Optimize Your Shots in Rematch

Scoring in Rematch, Sloclap’s arcade football simulation, takes more than just luck or brute force. The shooting system is both technical and unique, relying on precise control of aim, power, and ball spin to beat even the toughest goalkeepers. This complete guide will help you turn every chance into a goal and become a feared striker.

Shot accuracy mainly depends on camera and reticle control. To shoot, use the right stick to aim the camera and place the reticle where you want the ball to go. The longer you hold the shoot trigger (R2 or RT), the more powerful your shot will be—but it’ll also take longer to charge. A quick tap is ideal for surprising the keeper during close-range duels.

Fully charged shots can reach up to 140 km/h, but be careful—powerful shots are easier to read, giving goalkeepers more time to react. Always adapt shot power to the situation: go for fast, snappy shots inside the box and use full-power strikes from long range. Keep an eye on your stamina bar too, as it affects shot quality.

One of Rematch’s standout features is the ability to apply spin to the ball using the left stick. Tilt it left or right for lateral spin (curved or outside-foot shots). Pushing it down gives the shot a dipping trajectory, while tilting up creates a floating shot. These effects are excellent for throwing off goalkeepers and dodging defenders.

  • Curved shots are ideal for targeting the top corners or curling around a wall.

  • Dipping shots are perfect for surprising an advanced goalkeeper or hitting just under the crossbar.

  • Floating shots work well for long-range strikes or delicate lobs.

You can even combine effects, like a curved and dipping shot, for a more unpredictable flight path. Keep in mind that the more powerful your shot is, the less spin it will carry—so for maximum curve or dip, use moderate power.
