Dribbles and Feints in Rematch: Master or Counter Them Like a Pro

In Rematch, mastering technical moves and dribbling is what separates an average player from a true playmaker. Whether you're an attacker looking to break through the defense or a defender aiming to shut down flashy opponents, understanding these mechanics is key.

Basic dribbling is done simply by moving the left stick from side to side, shifting the ball from one foot to the other. This alone is often enough to throw off a defender with quick changes in direction. For more advanced moves, activate dribble stance by holding L2/LT and use specific inputs.

Here are some essential dribbling techniques:

  • Step Over (Passement de jambes): Hold L2/LT and press A (or Cross) while directing the left stick. This fakes a move and can wrong-foot the defender.

  • Dragback: While in dribble stance, pull the stick backward, release the stance, then push the stick forward again. This sudden stop-and-go can throw off a defender that's too close.

  • Rainbow Flick: Face forward, then quickly rotate the camera 180°. This flicks the ball over the defender’s foot while maintaining momentum.

  • Ronaldo Chop: While sprinting, press the tackle button (A/X) and angle the stick left or right to cut sharply in that direction, great for beating a defender one-on-one.

  • Chop + Dash Combo: This sequence (Chop followed by a quick dash) is deadly for breaking away from a defender and opening up space.

Tips to use dribbling effectively:

  • Mix it up: Alternate between basic and advanced moves to stay unpredictable.

  • Watch your stamina: Dribbles consume energy—manage your bar to keep fuel for decisive sprints.

  • Use the camera smartly: Shift angles to hide your intentions or spot open lanes and teammates.

  • Read the defender: If they're using defensive stance (jockey mode), they’ll be slower to change direction—capitalize with quick turns or combos.

Whether you're trying to dance past the backline or shut down a tricky winger, mastering the rhythm and flow of dribbling in Rematch will give you a massive edge.
