Fnatic stumble again as Gen.G dominate in Masters rematch thriller
The match began on Haven, where both squads showcased elite-level defense. Fnatic’s double-duelist comp gave them an early lead, but Gen.G clawed back with a disciplined Viper-Omen setup. Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom anchored the map with strong site holds, leading Gen.G to a 13-11 comeback win.
On Split, Fnatic nearly crumbled after a 3-9 defensive half. However, they made history as the first team to steal a pistol round from Gen.G in the tournament. Emir “Alfajer” Beder’s explosive Raze plays helped push the map into overtime, where Fnatic prevailed 14-12.
The decider, Lotus, saw Gen.G take full control. Kim “t3xture” Na-ra’s precision on Neon shut down Fnatic’s entries. Despite winning both pistol rounds, Fnatic faltered on attack, allowing Gen.G to seal the map 13-6.
With all four top seeds now in the lower bracket, Fnatic faces elimination against RRQ, while Gen.G advances to face Wolves Esports.
