EWC LoL 2025: Dates, cities, format... What you need to know about the biggest League of Legends event of the year

Here’s everything you need to know about this highly anticipated edition: schedule, locations, format, and new features. The event will take place from July 16 to July 20, 2025, and will set up in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Good to know:

• Group Stage: Eight teams will compete for a spot in the playoffs. Every match counts, and the slightest mistake could lead to elimination.

• Playoffs: The top four teams from MSI 2025 will advance directly to the final phase. A well-deserved reward for their consistency… and a clear tactical advantage.

Which teams will be there?

 Worlds 2025 will bring together teams from the best leagues:

• South Korea: Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1

• China: Anyone’s Legend, Bilibili Gaming

• EMEA: Movistar KOI, G2 Esports

• Americas: FlyQuest, Cloud9, FURIA

• Asia-Pacific: CTBC Flying Oyster, GAM Esports

The total cash prize is estimated at 2 million dollars, distributed based on final performance. But more than the money, it’s the prestige of winning this championship and writing a page in esports history that attracts the game’s biggest stars.

The Club Championship rewards the organization that has accumulated the most points across all Esport World Cup competitions. The top 16 teams will share a 27 million dollar prize pool, depending on their performance across all games.

At the end of the event, the best-performing organization will be crowned the first-ever EWC Club World Champion. Additionally, each of the 25 individual tournaments will have its own prize pool, for a total exceeding 70 million dollars. The MVP of each tournament will receive a special reward of 50,000 dollars.
