OpTic Texas reigns supreme, rewriting CDL history in Canada

OpTic Texas carved their legacy in stone with a dominant back-to-back title run at the 2025 Call of Duty League Championship. In what marked the final Black Ops 6 CDL event, the squad outclassed the competition in a high-stakes, $2 million double-elimination bracket. Held in Kitchener, Canada, the showdown delivered peak viewership and a fitting send-off to an era. Eight teams entered — but only one proved they were built for greatness. The Green Wall stands stronger than ever.

OpTic’s dominant performance began with a commanding 3‑0 sweep of Atlanta FaZe, continuing with flawless shutouts against Toronto Ultra and Boston Breach. The grand final pitted them against Vancouver Surge in a tense best‑of‑9, with OpTic triumphing 5‑3.

Mason “Mercules” Ramsay earned Championship MVP, his first major title, joining coach Damon “Karma” Barlow, who now boasts five world championships across player and coach roles.

Viewership soared: total hours watched hit 3.78 million (a modest 6% decrease due to shorter streams), while average concurrent viewers rose 23.4% and peak concurrent viewership surged nearly 25% year-over-year. The grand final peaked at 353,525 concurrent viewers—the highest in CDL history, smashing the previous 300K barrier.

Seth “Scump” Abner also shattered records: his YouTube stream peaked at 173,774 viewers, a 32.4% boost from last year. With more co‑streamers and a streamlined format attracting global, especially European, audiences, the CDL enters its next season on solid footing.
