EA Sports FC 26: Everything You Need to Know Before the September 26, 2025 Release

EA Sports FC 26 is coming in fall 2025, and this year, Nintendo players have a great surprise in store. Whether you have the new generation or older consoles, everyone will finally get to enjoy a full, uncompromised version. Here’s everything you need to know.

The official release date is set for September 26, 2025 — a single date for all platforms. If you want to play earlier, several options will be available starting September 19, including the Ultimate Edition or through an EA Play (or Game Pass Ultimate) subscription. As with previous entries, early access is reserved for the most dedicated (and best-equipped) players.

On the platform side, EA Sports FC 26 is going big: the game will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PC, but especially on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. No more lightweight, limited editions like the “Legacy Edition”: this time, Nintendo players will truly enjoy a full experience. Improved graphics engine, all game modes (Ultimate Team, Career, Clubs, Street...), cross-play on Switch 2, regular updates... nothing has been left out. The Switch version finally becomes a true “major” version of the game, on par with other platforms.

As usual, two editions will be offered at launch: Standard and Ultimate. Preordering the Ultimate Edition grants you 7 days early access and bonuses: up to 6,000 FC points (4,500 on Switch), a FUT Icon at launch, and content to kickstart your journey. Only a few exclusive packs will be missing on the Switch versions, but nothing essential for full gameplay.

And what about the new features? There are plenty. The gameplay has been refined, with smoother dribbling, more responsive passing, smarter defensive AI, and more effective goalkeepers. The Career mode has also been expanded, featuring dynamic scenarios (thanks to Live Manager Challenges) and more customization in tactics and player roles.
