Rocket League reaches new heights with historic World Cup

Rocket League’s presence at the Esports World Cup 2025 has turned into one of the event’s biggest stories, pulling in a record-breaking audience. The competition peaked at 230,209 viewers, edging past the RLCS Raleigh Major, which had just over 217,000. That difference may seem small, but it marks a major milestone for the World Cup, proving its ability to rival Rocket League’s traditional flagship tournaments.

The $1 million showdown gathered the top 16 international squads, with every match contributing to the ongoing Club Championship rankings. French powerhouse Karmine Corp eventually claimed the crown, defeating Saudi Arabia’s Geekay Esports in a 4-1 final. Interestingly, the most-watched clash wasn’t the grand final, but a dramatic semifinal where Geekay narrowly toppled Team Vitality in a tense seven-game thriller.

Compared to last year’s edition, audience engagement skyrocketed. Peak numbers more than doubled, average viewership climbed by over 110%, and hours watched jumped past the two-million mark. A big driver was the rivalry between French and Saudi fans, amplified by co-streams from influencers like Kamel “kamet0” Kebir.

With such momentum, Rocket League’s EWC performance has cemented itself among the title’s top events of the year.
