Gentle Mates enter CS2 with Iberian Soul’s unstoppable roster 

French esports organisation Gentle Mates has officially launched its Counter-Strike 2 division by acquiring the Spanish squad Iberian Soul. Formed in January 2025, Iberian Soul had quickly made a name in the European tier-two circuit, securing victories at the Roman Imperium Cup I and EPIC.LAN 45, establishing themselves as a rising force. 

The newly unveiled roster brings together experienced players from prominent organisations, blending tier-one and tier-two talent. Key members include AWPer Antonio ‘Martinez’ Martinez, Alejandro ‘mopoz’ Fernández-Quejo, David ‘dav1g’ Granado, Pere ‘sausol’ Solsona, and Alejandro ‘alex’ Masanet, supported by head coach Eloy ‘deLonge’ Suárez and assistant coach Angel ‘repk3ys’ Navarro. Martinez shared his excitement on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the enthusiasm of reuniting with teammates under a new banner. 

Founded in 2023 by Kevin ‘BroKeN’ Georges, Corentin ‘Gotaga’ Houssein, and Lucas ‘Squeezie’ Hauchard, Gentle Mates quickly grew a massive fanbase thanks to its hype branding and stacked rosters across Rocket League, League of Legends, Age of Empires, Call of Duty, Fortnite, and VALORANT. 

Iberian Soul mades its debut as Gentle Mates’ CS2 roster on August 26 at 6:30 PM BST, live on Squeezie’s Twitch channel — a milestone that marks the organisation’s first step into the world of first-person shooter esports.
