SwizzY, Queasy, Merstach secure Fortnite world title, stunning fans worldwide

At the FNCS 2025 Global Championship held in Lyon (Décines), France, Egor “SwizzY” Luciko, Aleksa “Queasy” Cvetkovic, and Andrejs “Merstach” Piratovs emerged as the new Fortnite world champions. Competing across 12 grueling matchups from September 6–7, they accumulated a dominant 697 points and secured three match victories, earning a massive $450,000 prize (approximately $150K per player).

The trio launched with exceptional momentum, winning matches two through four and tallying 16 eliminations in game three. Though their placement dipped in the later rounds, they consistently held their ground in the top 10, proving their resilience. Their victory marked a dramatic improvement from previous performances, SwizzY had placed 10th with a different partner in 2024, Queasy was runner-up, and Merstach ranked 32nd.

The excitement stretched beyond the stage. According to Esports Charts, the tournament drew a staggering peak of 954,473 live viewers, the most-watched Fortnite esports event since the 2019 World Cup Finals with an average audience of 690,831 and over 7.5 million total viewing hours across nearly 11 hours of broadcast.
