WoW esports 2025: qualifiers, finals, huge prize money awaits

Blizzard has officially confirmed the comeback of two cornerstone esports events in World of Warcraft , the Arena World Championship (AWC) and Mythic Dungeon International (MDI), as part of the Ghosts of K’aresh update, tied to The War Within Season 3.

Registrations are live on Raider.IO for teams in Europe and North America. The AWC kicks off with three regional Qualification Cups. The best squads will secure spots in the Grand Finals, where four teams per region will clash for US$200,000. For those who miss a direct qualification, the Gauntlet will decide the last finalist.

Meanwhile, the MDI begins October 1st with global Time Trials. The top 18 teams will advance to the Group Stage, each group competing for US$30,000 (except China, which won’t feature prize money). From there, six teams plus two Chinese squads will move to the Global Finals, battling for US$300,000.

These tournaments are part of a packed esports year for WoW. Recent highlights include Team Liquid’s victory in the Race to World First: Manaforge Omega and Blizzard’s Creator Clash at Gamescom 2025, showcasing the MMORPG’s growing competitive scene.
