The Call of Duty Black Ops 7 beta already lets you test several lethal, tactical, and field upgrades. Picking the right ones is crucial to gain an edge, especially in fast-paced modes. Here’s a full tier list based on effectiveness and popularity observed during the beta.
Semtex clearly dominates the meta. Its ability to stick to surfaces and enemies makes it perfect for flushing out targets in cover. Right behind it, the frag grenade remains a classic but is less reliable due to its detonation delay. For aggressive players, the throwing knife is also deadly for quickly finishing duels.
The proximity mine is ideal for defending objectives, especially in Domination. Thermite punishes enemies behind cover and destroys equipment like turrets or shields. It’s less universal but very effective in the right situations.
The stun grenade remains king for interrupting duels. It slows enemy movement and aiming, giving you a clear advantage. The flash grenade is just behind, perfect for breaching enclosed spaces or attacking objectives.
The stim has become crucial again for aggressive players, allowing you to heal and re-engage fights faster. The smoke grenade is more situational but still powerful for blocking sniper sightlines or securing objectives.
Dead Silence is a must-have for flanking without being picked up by the sound radar. The Portable Radar is also excellent for maintaining control over an area and predicting enemy rotations.
The Munitions Box helps in long matches and objective-based modes but is less important in Deathmatch. The Trophy System is very handy for countering grenade spam, especially on close-quarters maps.
The Recon Drone and Jammer are less effective due to the fast pace of matches and their activation time. They could become more viable later depending on adjustments in the full release.
