The easiest way to get a Shiny Stone in Pokémon Legends: Z-A is to buy it at the Jewel of Kalos, the evolution stone shop located in Lumiose City. You’ll find it near the Pokémon Center on Floréal Avenue, right in the heart of the city. Inside, a vendor sells various evolution stones once you’ve progressed far enough in the main story.
However, the Shiny Stone isn’t available from the start of the game. To unlock it in the shop’s inventory, you must complete Main Mission 39 of the story. Only after that will it appear for purchase, priced at 3,000 Pokédollars. The cost is quite reasonable, especially if you plan to evolve several Grass- or Fairy-type Pokémon without spending hours scouring every corner of the city.
The Jewel of Kalos is the most reliable option for players who prefer not to rely on luck. Once unlocked, you can buy as many Shiny Stones as you want, with no limit. It’s perfect if you’re trying to complete your Pokédex or test different team builds.
If you’d rather find one for free, Lumiose City offers multiple opportunities to do so through exploration. From the very start of the game, the city is full of hidden spots where Poké Balls containing rare items can be found, including the Shiny Stone. Here are three known locations where you can pick one up:
Location 1:
The first Shiny Stone is hidden in a small courtyard on the west side of the city. To reach it, go through the commercial district, then turn left before the large fountain. You’ll spot a Poké Ball lying behind a metal dumpster. Pick it up to get your first Shiny Stone.
Location 2:
Another Shiny Stone can be found on a high scaffolding platform. Climb up, then perform a roll with the Y button to reach the opposite platform. A Poké Ball awaits there containing a Shiny Stone. This spot requires a bit of timing and precision but serves as great practice for mastering movement mechanics in Lumiose.
Location 3:
Finally, climb the ladder of a building near Lysandre Park to reach the rooftops. On one of them, you’ll find another Poké Ball containing a Shiny Stone. This area is a bit more hidden, but it’s worth exploring for the great city view, and the bonus items scattered around.
With these three locations, you can easily collect up to three Shiny Stones early in your adventure, saving Pokédollars while expanding your collection of rare evolution items. Whether you plan to evolve Roselia into Roserade or Floette into Florges, these stones are essential for any trainer looking to strengthen their team in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
