You can encounter Audino in two specific Wild Zones:
Wild Zone No. 7
Wild Zone No. 19
These are the only confirmed areas where Audino appears in the wild. However, its spawn rate is quite low, meaning you may not see it every time you visit. If you explore the zone and don’t find one, don’t worry, the game lets you refresh Pokémon spawns easily.
To do this, head to a bench located near a Pokémon Center, every major Wild Zone has at least one. Sit on the bench for a few minutes to pass time in-game, which resets the Pokémon appearing in that area. Repeat the process several times if necessary until Audino finally shows up.
Once you spot an Audino, the real challenge begins: catching it. This Pokémon is known for fleeing quickly as soon as it notices you. Before doing anything, save your game. If the capture fails or it runs away, you can reload your save and try again without losing progress.
Next, approach carefully by gently pressing the left joystick (L) to move slowly. If you run or make noise, Audino will get scared and vanish. The best approach is to sneak up behind it at a safe distance and throw a Poké Ball.
To maximize your chances, use a Great Ball or an Ultra Ball. Regular Poké Balls often fail, especially if Audino’s level is high. If your throw doesn’t work, stay still and observe its reaction. If it escapes, close the game immediately, then reload your save to retry. This trick lets you attempt the capture multiple times without losing the encounter.
Another useful strategy is to use a Pokémon that can inflict Sleep or Paralysis. Moves like Spore, Stun Spore, or Sing make capturing much easier, especially for rare Pokémon like Audino.
Once caught, Audino becomes an excellent support Pokémon for your team. Thanks to its strong defensive stats and healing moves such as Wish and Heal Pulse, it can absorb hits while keeping your other Pokémon healthy throughout battle.
That’s not all, Audino also has a Mega Evolution, turning into Mega Audino. This transformation drastically changes its stats and even its typing. To access it, you’ll need a Audinite, a special Mega Stone. This rare item allows Audino to temporarily Mega Evolve during battle, gaining the Fairy/Normal type and increased resistance to Fighting and Dragon-type moves.
With patience, stealth, and the right tools, you’ll be able to add this gentle but powerful healer to your roster, and eventually unlock the full potential of Mega Audino in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
