When does Fortnite patch v38.10 release and what does it change in the game?

The v38.10 update for Fortnite is now in its final testing phase and is shaping up to be the first major mid-season update following the explosive launch of v38.00, which introduced the collaboration with The Simpsons. According to leaks from Epic Games’ internal servers, this mid-season patch is expected to roll out in early November 2025, likely between November 5 and 6, if the usual schedule holds.

This v38.10 update won’t bring a new season, but rather expand and reinforce the existing content. It will fix several bugs related to the Springfield map, improve performance on Unreal Engine 5.4, and add new cosmetic items already spotted by dataminers. Among them are secondary Simpsons collab skins, including Lisa and Krusty the Clown, who were not part of the first v38.00 wave.

On the gameplay side, several balancing changes are expected. Weapons introduced in the previous season notably the Donut Launcher and the Krusty Burger Grenade are set to receive a full rebalance after numerous player complaints about their power level. Developers are also expected to adjust shield regeneration speed in certain Springfield zones, which many found too slow for the current pace of the game.

Dataminers have also discovered references to a temporary event called “Springfield Mayhem”, which could launch alongside v38.10. This limited-time mode would feature Simpsons-themed challenges with exclusive rewards such as a Duff Beer glider, a “Woohoo!” Homer emote, and an animated loading screen showing the whole family.

For UEFN island creators, v38.10 will include several performance optimizations, particularly for cartoon-style textures and dynamic lighting effects used on the Simpsons map. Epic is also planning to introduce a new interactive asset system, allowing creators to more easily add voiced or animated NPCs, a long-awaited tool that could significantly expand creative possibilities.
