Among the rarest Pokémon in Pokémon Legends Z-A, Eternal Flower Floette is without a doubt one of the most special. Inspired by the myth of AZ and the ancient Kalos war, this unique form of Floette can’t be found in the wild or obtained through evolution. There’s only one way to unlock it, and it takes some effort.
First, you’ll need to complete the main story. Eternal Flower Floette only becomes available after finishing the game, once you’ve unlocked the post-game content. That’s when you’ll gain access to a new special mode called Infinite Z-A Royale, a multi-round challenge designed for players who want to extend the adventure with high-level battles.
In this mode, each victory earns you Battle Points (BP). You’ll need to accumulate around 50,000 BP to obtain a special item called the Fighter’s Ticket. This ticket grants you access to the Reward Matches, a series of bonus duels meant as a reward for top trainers.
It’s during the 15th match of this challenge that the key moment happens. You’ll face your rival, Urban or Taunie, depending on your game version, and they’ll use Eternal Flower Floette in battle. The fight won’t be easy: their team is above level 70 and heavily focuses on Fairy and Psychic types. Once you defeat your rival, they’ll give you Floette as a token of respect.
This Floette is special in several ways. It arrives at level 72, with higher base stats than a regular Floette, and it comes holding a unique item, the Floettite, a Mega Stone that allows it to Mega Evolve during battle. Its deep blue flower represents the legendary Eternal Flower from Pokémon X and Y, and it’s the only Pokémon in the game capable of learning Light of Ruin, a powerful Fairy-type move exclusive to this form.
Eternal Flower Floette cannot evolve into Florges and cannot breed, making it truly one of a kind. It’s a symbolic Pokémon, a reward for players who have explored everything Pokémon Legends Z-A has to offer, and a living reminder of Kalos’s ancient legend reborn in this new adventure.
