The simplest option is a direct respec. Since the Cold Snap update, you can open your skill tree from the Raider menu and press R on PC, or use the button shown at the bottom of the screen, to fully reset it. The downside is the cost. The higher your level, the more expensive it becomes. Around level 75, the price sits at roughly 152,000 Pieces, paid with Coins earned from loot and quests. Each additional respec increases the cost even further, so it’s something you really need to think through before confirming.
This option is ideal if you want to fix a poorly optimized build, reinforce a neglected branch like survival or mobility, or test an anti-ARC or PvP build without losing your level or your inventory.
If you’re looking for a true fresh start, the Expedition is the heavier, but also the most rewarding, alternative in the long run. It unlocks at level 20 through the Codex with the Expedition Project. The concept is straightforward: you complete the different stages over a roughly 60-day cycle, sign up during the dedicated window, and then depart on the scheduled date. For the first expedition, registration ran from December 17 to December 22, 2025, with departure on December 22.
Once you leave, your Raider is completely reset. Your level, skill tree, and stash all start from zero. However, you keep your Codex, stations, cosmetics, and trials, which makes the reset far less punishing than it might sound.
The real value lies in the stackable bonuses. Each expedition can grant up to 5 bonus skill points, at a rate of 1 million Coins per point, along with permanent buffs such as increased XP, extra materials, and improved repairs. In the long run, this is the only way to aim for a nearly complete skill tree, even though it requires investing millions of resources.
