Stick of Truth Fortnite: how to get it and use it

With the South Park collab, Fortnite introduced a really special item: the Stick of Truth. This isn’t just a fun reference to the series, it’s a fully playable item that can completely change how you approach your matches when you find it, and it’s absolutely worth hunting down.

To get it, you first need to know that it spawns as a rare item on the map during the Born in Chaos event. You can find it in chests, as ground loot, or at certain fixed locations players already know well. It doesn’t appear every match, so you’ll often need a bit of luck or to focus on areas where it’s more likely to spawn. In both Zero Build and standard Battle Royale, it can show up pretty much anywhere, but zones around Cartmanland or South Park–inspired locations are solid starting points.

Once it’s in your inventory, the Stick of Truth becomes a versatile tool. When you use it, it grants a special ability similar to an ultimate power that can be activated in combat. Its main effect is releasing a wave that knocks back and stuns nearby enemies. You can use it to shut down an enemy push, escape when you’re getting surrounded, or simply create space during a tight fight. It’s especially strong if multiple players are rushing you or if you need to regain control of a messy engagement.

One practical tip: keep an eye on the Stick’s icon in your inventory, because after using it, it usually goes on cooldown before it becomes available again. Managing that timing properly is key if you’re planning to commit to a longer fight.
