Hytale: How to Craft a Workshop?

In Hytale, you can’t really start your adventure without going through a key step: crafting a Workshop. It’s one of the very first essential items in the game and clearly the foundation of all your progression. Exploration, combat, gear, almost everything revolves around it, so you might as well know exactly how to get it right from the start.

Once you’re in-game, begin by gathering basic resources around you. Chop down trees to get wood (tree trunk) and mine rocks to obtain stone. These two materials are essential to create your first Workshop. When that’s done, press the TAB key on your keyboard to open your inventory. You’ll see your character, but more importantly a section called pocket crafting, which lets you craft without any structure.

In this interface, select the Workshop. The recipe is simple and available very early in the game: you need x4 wood and x3 stone. If you have the resources in your inventory, a simple left click is enough to start crafting. The Workshop then appears in your inventory, ready to be used. All that’s left is to place it on the ground wherever you want.

From that point on, the game changes completely. The Workshop unlocks far more advanced recipes than those available through pocket crafting. You can start making proper tools, useful structures, and most importantly other specialized workstations. Thanks to it, you’ll be able to craft a furnace, a cooking station, an armor workstation, or even a blacksmith’s anvil. In short, it’s the heart of your future base.

But the Workshop doesn’t stop there. It can also be upgraded, and each upgrade gives you access to more powerful and prestigious items. For the first upgrade, you’ll already need to invest a bit more into the game. You’ll need x30 copper ingots, x20 iron ingots, and x20 flax scraps. Once these resources are gathered, you’ll be able to upgrade your Workshop and unlock brand-new crafting possibilities.
