Hytale: How to Get Essence of the Void?

In Hytale, Essence of the Void isn’t an ore you mine or something you craft like wood or iron. It’s a rare resource that comes directly from Void-related enemies, meaning you can only get it through combat.

To obtain it, you need to fight Void creatures that usually appear at night or in areas corrupted by the Void. These enemies often have a creepy look with dark colors and purple glows, and they’ll rush you as soon as they spot you.

When you kill these Void monsters, they can drop Essence of the Void as loot. That’s the only way to get it in the game. You won’t find it underground, in plants, or inside chests like some other resources.

This means that if you want to build up a stock, you’ll need to be ready to farm at night. Pick areas with high enemy spawn rates or look for Void-infected biomes where these creatures appear more frequently. The more Void monsters you defeat, the better your chances of getting essence.

Essence of the Void is important for progressing in the game, since it’s required in several high-level recipes. For example, some advanced crafting stations like the Arcanist’s Workbench require multiple units of Essence of the Void to be crafted. Without it, you won’t be able to unlock certain late-game items or equipment.

One last tip: always keep your Essence of the Void safe once you have it in your inventory. If you die before storing it or placing it in a chest, you risk losing it right where you fell.
