How to craft and use a Repair Kit in Hytale?

How many times have you been in the middle of a mining session or a fight, at the worst possible moment, and your tool or weapon just gives up? In Hytale, durability is a core part of the gameplay. The more you use your gear, the more its durability bar goes down, and it also decreases when you die. Luckily, all is not lost, because there’s a simple and effective solution: repair kits.

In Hytale, every weapon, tool, or piece of armor has a limited lifespan. If you don’t pay attention, you can lose expensive gear even though it was still perfectly salvageable. The idea is to anticipate and repair your stuff before it’s too late, rather than waiting for it to break completely.

First things first, you need to craft a repair kit. Head to your workbench. Once there, open the second tab, the one represented by a pickaxe. At the very top of the list, you’ll find the repair kit. The recipe is unlocked fairly early in the game and requires very few resources: 2 linen scraps, 1 iron ingot, and 1 light leather. Once you have everything, just start the craft to get your kit.

When your kit is ready, drag it into your hotbar and equip it like a regular item. From there, using it is very straightforward. With the kit in hand, right-click. A window opens, showing all of your equipment, whether it’s weapons, tools, or armor, along with the remaining durability percentage for each item. Select the item you want to repair, confirm with a right-click, and the repair is applied instantly.

The repair kit restores the durability of the selected item, extending its lifespan and saving you from having to recraft it. This is especially valuable for rare or advanced gear, like a thorium sword or an adamantite pickaxe.

Be careful about one very important thing though: repair kits do not work on completely broken items. If your weapon or tool is destroyed, it’s already too late. The key is to keep an eye on durability and step in at the right moment.
